There is no denying that 2020 has been a roller-coaster of a year and we have only just made it halfway. Half way also means that we are in July and the annual Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) renewal process has just been completed. I was humbled to receive the award email notification this morning informing me that I’d received MVP Renewal for the 2020/21 year in the Enterprise Mobility – Identity and Access Management category.
I’ve recently been reflecting on several of the advancements being made in the Microsoft Identity and Access Management sphere and there are some exciting features coming to the Microsoft platforms during the coming 12 months. There are some very exciting features that I’m involved with during their development phases prior to Public Preview and General Availability which is one of the benefits of the MVP program.
More publicly though I’m very excited with the progress of Microsoft’s push to Passwordless through the FIDO2 standards. The recent announcements associated with Microsoft’s participation on open standards for decentralized identities and ION integrated with Bitcoin mainnet for public beta is hugely exciting for me.
As part of my reflection on the past 12 months I’ve also compiled a small summary of personal open source projects that I’ve accomplished. I’ve put together a quick markdown document to link to the associated projects, blog posts and libraries.
I look forward to being an active contributor of the MVP family for the 2020/21 renewal cycle with a lot of my MVP colleagues who have also been renewed.
