July, that time of the year where Microsoft MVPs are impatiently waiting on the outcome of the annual Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) renewal process. This year we all received a notification on the 1st of July, but not the one we were all expecting. The notification was communication of a delay to the Microsoft MVP Renewal 2022/23 renewal announcement.

That incited some humor of a pseudo award disc for the 5-day extension due to the delay of renewal announcement.

And some next level trolling from Loryan Strant.

All joking aside, it is satisfying and humbling to receive the award email notification this morning. Notification informing me that I’d received MVP Renewal for the 2022/23 year in the Enterprise Mobility – Identity and Access Management category. This is my fifth renewal after being first awarded in 2017.

In last year’s post commemorating being re-awarded I mentioned the advancements in identity and access management. Especially around passwordless and decentralized identity. In the last twelve months I certainly have expended a lot of effort in those areas.

I look forward to being an active contributor of the MVP family for the 2022/23 renewal cycle with a lot of my global MVP colleagues who have also been renewed. Fingers crossed the MVP Summit will finally return to an in-person event in 2023.
